New jobs a plus for county

The new Unity Homes Manufacturing Facility will provide more than 100 new jobs and Marion County residents will likely be the first considered for the position.
"These are all new positions and will be extremely local-based," said James Jackson, Unity Home's president and chief operating officer. "We're working with Pearl River Community College and government agencies and will be very extensive in hiring from this and neighboring counties."
"We have an obligation to hire 50 percent of our workforce from low-income households," said Lillie Bender, the project's workforce development coordinator.
